Salman Khan urges everyone to bring eco-friendly Ganesha idol to home
Salman Khan and others recently attended an event in Mumbai to promote eco-friendly practices for the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi. The event was focused on spreading awareness about the environmental influence of using non-biodegradable materials in Ganesh idols. Plus, encourages people to adopt natural and eco-friendly alternatives.
Salman Khan highlighted the importance of using eco-friendly Ganesh idols during his speech at the event. He made a fervent appeal to the audience, saying, “Sablog please eco-friendly Ganpati idols laye gharpe.”
Salman also explained the logic behind his appeal. The famous Bollywood actor expressed the view of the beach after Ganesh Visarjan, in which the Ganesh idol is immersed in the sea or any other water body. He added, “Visarjan ke dusre din samandar par acha nahi dikhta Ganpati Bappa ki parts alag alag ho gaye hai aur jameen par girr gaye hai.”
Furthermore, he also spoke about the issue of Plaster of Paris (POP) idols which are commonly used but are not biodegradable. He added, “POP ke idol banate hai log fir wo visarjan nahi hote.”
As you know, POP idols do not decompose easily in water, causing environmental pollution and harming marine life. By drawing awareness of this, Khan sought to familiarize people with the harmful effects of using POP materials.
Salman finished his speech with a strong message about the sanctity of the festival and idols. He stated, “Itna pure festival hai toh Ganesh ji bhi pure hone chaiye.”
Organized by the Divyaaj Foundation, the event was a forum for superstars like Salman Khan to use their power to promote eco-friendly techniques. In addition, the foundation’s initiatives focus on reducing the environmental impact of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Every year, millions of idols are immersed in water bodies across India during this festival.
