Ganesh Chaturthi 2024: Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Ganeshotsav. It is one of the most well-known Hindu festivals celebrated in India. It is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Plus, he is the god of wisdom, abundance, and new beginnings. This festival is usually celebrated in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada in August or September.

When will Ganesh Chaturthi be celebrated in 2024?
The festival is usually celebrated in August or September in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada. This year Ganesh Chaturthi 2024 is being celebrated on September 06. Ganesh Chaturthi 2024: Muhurat
According to the Drik Panchang, the auspicious Muhurat or Chaturthi Tithi for the 10-day celebration of Vinayaka Chaturdashi 2024 will begin at 03:01 PM on Friday, September 06 and end at 05:37 PM on Saturday, September 07, 2024. Similarly, the midday Ganesh Puja Muhurat will begin at 11:03 AM and continue till 01:34 PM.
Ganesh Utsav 2024: Significance and Rituals
Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the remover of obstacles and the god of wisdom and prosperity. He is worshipped first in all Hindu rituals. Ganesh Chaturthi is particularly significant in states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Goa, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
Ganesh Utsav begins with Pranapratishtha, in which priests chant mantras to infuse life into the idol of Lord Ganesha. This is followed by Shodashopachar, a 16-step ritual. In this ritual, devotees offer prayers, sweets, and fruits to the Lord. Modak, a sweet dumpling, is a special prasad, which is considered to be Lord Ganesha’s dearest.
