International Kullu Dussehra Festival 2024: This festival is one of the important festivals of India. Specifically, the International Kullu Dussehra Festival is a great celebration in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. Every year, the people celebrate the Kullu Dussehra festival in the month of October, and is one of the International Mega Dussehra festivals. The event is held in the Dhalpur ground of Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. Around 4-5 lakh people from different countries across the world participate in the Kullu Dussehra festival.

Dussehra in Kullu starts on the tenth day of Navratri i.e. on Vijay Dashmi day, around the month of October, and continues for seven days.

International Kullu Dussehra Festival 2024: Date

In 2024, the International Kullu Dussehra Festival will commence on Saturday, October 12, and will continue for seven days till October 18, 2024. The week-long festival is famous for its grand celebration and large number of visitors.

Himachal Pradesh’s chief Parliamentary Secretary Sunder Singh Thakur says that artists from 21 countries will participate in this year’s International Dussehra Festival in Kullu.

After chairing a meeting of ambassadors to discuss the participation of various countries in this year’s festival in New Delhi on Thursday, Thakur said ambassadors, excellencies, and heads of missions of various countries would meet Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu in Kullu on October 18 and hold bilateral talks on various points.

Moreover, the popular festival begins with Lord Raghunath taking out a procession across the city riding on the chariots of other deities.

International Kullu Dussehra Festival 2024: History

Kullu Dussehra’s history dates back to the 17th century when the local King Jagat Singh inaugurated an idol of Raghunath on this throne as a mark of penance. After this, people consider Lord Raghunath the ruling deity of the valley.
