Nagaland prepares for 25th Hornbill Festival in Kisama

The Hornbill Festival is an annual celebration from 1 to 10 December in the Northeastern Indian state of Nagaland. This grand festival represents all the ethnic groups of Nagaland and is also called the Festival of Festivals. Now, the Nagaland Cabinet has discussed various issues, including preparation for the 25th edition of the Hornbill Festival at Kisama in 2024.

Nagaland prepares for 25th Hornbill Festival

As per the report from NIA, Government Spokesperson, and Minister for Energy and Parliamentary Affairs K.G. Kenye informed the media after the meeting that the Cabinet reviewed the preparation for the 25th edition of the Hornbill Festival. Plus, he highlights the headwork of the Tourism Department and its officials.

Moreover, he further said that we hope to make great arrangements for the 25th edition to welcome out tourism from far and wide.

“We hope to make impressive arrangements for our 25th edition to welcome friends from afar.

In addition to this, the minister further expressed faith that despite the demand of the frontier Naga area, people from the eastern areas of Nagaland will participate in the upcoming Hornbill Festival.

The upcoming Hornbill Festival is ll set to take place from December 1 to 10 at the Heritage Village, Kisama.

Earlier, the first coordination meeting with tribal Hohos and organizations was held at the Directorate office of the department yesterday in preparation for the Hornbill Festival, in which two representatives from each tribal Hoho participated.

G. Hukugha Sema, Commission and Secretary of Tourism, Nagaland said, “It’s going to be a grad festival this year.”

He further sais that the tribal bodies are the core and backbone of the Hornbill Festival and with their collaboration and cooperation. With the help of tribal bodies, the state has successfully hosted 24 editions so far.

Commission and Secretary added, ” We are now set to have the most befitting and glorious 25th edition of the Hornbill Festival in 2024.”
